Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours
Difficulty: Painfully easy :)
Well folks, we haven't done this yet and it's one of the most popular trails in Kelowna. It's not as much of a hike as it is a stroll through the park that follows the river. What with the last couple hikes being a bit intense and the weather heating up, it feels like a great choice!

A relatively flat trail, Mission Creek Greenway is a popular route through the grasslands for hikers, runners, cyclists and equestrians.
Known for its deep history dating back to European settlers and First Nation use, this area is plentiful in wildlife and plant species. The peaceful trail is about 22km in distance from Okanagan Lake to Mission Creek falls but you can choose how far you want to go.
Up until recent years, residents were only able to trek along some parts of the Mission Creek corridor due to much of the land being held as private property. In 2011, the Greenway was built to allow residents to fully enjoy the area.
The project created by the Friends of Mission Creek Society along with funding and help from the community resulted in a renovation of the trail including a 7.3km extension from Lakeshore Road to Ziprick Road and a 9.2km extension into Scenic Canyon Regional Park. The second extension included installing a wetland boardwalk and three bridges.
There have been some upgrades to the trail in the past few years and some sections are still under development as a third phase of development is in planning and will extend between KLO Creek to Mission Creek Falls.
To reach the top for some great views, there is a steep incline after about 15km but it is worth it when you reach the peak. Views along the greenway also include the walls of Myra Canyon and Layer Cake Mountain.
Come for a stroll through winding forest-ways nestled next to Mission Creek, with a series of wooden bridges enhancing your journey. This hike is moderately easy for all, but is not stroller friendly. It has a very mild incline as we wind through the floor and hillside of the canyon and up some stairs, but for the most part it is quite flat.
