A dacite-composed volcanic land-form, Layer Cake Hill is truly a unique gem in Kelowna offering a layering style seldom seen. After recent advances, scientists now describe this particular geological formation as occurring from the different ways rock in a single volcanic flow shrinks as it cools. The "Pinnacle" hoodoo stands nearby and was formed from the same flow.
