This arduous trek that begins at Erin Valley is best done with a car parked at each end of the trailhead. It follows an old 4x4ing road into grazing lands, eventually leading to a very clearly gated off area. From here, head to the right into the forest until reconnecting with 4x4ing track again and heading north. Finding a cairn at a trail fork, head directly up the shale patch and follow the ridgeline to the summit. The trail from here becomes quite a bit clearer as the north route is more popularly done. There is even a flagged route if you're lucky enough to find it. Once a bit more experienced with the trail, doing it in reverse from Ronde Ln to Erin Valley would be much easier on the knees!
Bring our GPS log - no exceptions! Even we had a few moments when we were route finding instead of on-trail. If you find a better, more well-used route, we'd love to hear about it. There are a number of forks in the trail, so it is quite easy to get turned around!
