Lone Tree Hill
BC-Vancouver Island / Highlands
26 min driving from Downtown Victoria
Lone Tree Hill is the only summit in Victoria that boasts a 360 panoramic view. It is fairly an easy hike that can be less than an hour depending how much time you spend on the summit. It is also well marked and the viewpoint can be reached in less than 30 minutes. From this summit, enjoy views of the Malahat, the Highlands, Victoria and the distant Olympic Mountains.
The trail is a gradual uphill with gorgeous Arbutus trees along the way, making it a serene hike. Closer to the summit, there are various rock outcrops that each leads into own tiny trails. You can enjoy exploring all of these that gives you its own special view. The Lone Tree Park’s name originated from a 200 year-old Douglas fir that has now become just a stump. However, at the summit is a tall Arbutus tree outshining the original lone tree.
